Athletic directors make publishing decisions every week: a new school record goes on the board, a seasonal award winner gets announced, a hall of fame inductee gets added to the display. Most of those decisions happen without a written policy to guide them — and the gaps don’t become visible until something goes wrong. A record is disputed. An award is questioned.
